Collecting gin bottles and a few other alcoholic bottles allows me to see what's on the market and physically look and feel the bottles. I can get a sense of the shape, weight, texture and embossing of the glass that I would not get from just an image of the bottle. The more I can collect the more I get a sense of how I can make my design stand out from the crowd whilst also using inspiration to make my design obviously recognisable as a bottle of gin.
My mood board behind my desk allows me to look for inspiration, especially if I'm stuck. Having different people's work around the room gives me inspiration for my designs, even if it's just an image that leads to a thought which leads to another thought that leads to an idea etc. My mood board will bring all my different ideas and thoughts together to highlight an idea I may not have seen from each individual image on its own.
