Having conversations with end users is a key element to:

- Get work out there

- Know your work 'works'

- Create interest among end users for your project

I will need to be clear about who the end user is. What I need to tell them and effective ways of communicating with them.

Talk about your project like you are talking to a civilian.

Explain yourself to your audience in a way that's clear to understand

- Use the fewest words possible

- Choose simple expressions

Clarity should be a central part of creative thinking

Often the process of explaining creativity to others is the same as explaining it to yourself.

Who do I need clarity with?

- Myself

- The creative domain

- The creative field (gatekeepers, critics, funders, commissioners, agencies etc.)

- The end users

- The outside world (General public)

Don't just talk about the what (what you have made) and how (how you did it) - talk about what they get, how it does things for them, the broader purpose. Why is it better than other products and older versions.

- Communicate what they would be able to do if they got the project.

- What are the benefits of your major project?

- Look at the questions from different perspectives and viewpoints

Look into these questions and be able to answer them in semester B.

My creative practice will always depend on the social actions of others.

I will need to look at who my creative practice is for - who is the audience, end user, consumer.

The target audience will be specific to the project, therefore the symbolic, aesthetic and practicality must fit with the target audience. This may not be the same as my own symbols, aesthetics and practicalities.
